I would have been excited seeing this article no matter what because I love my neighborhood so much, but the truth of the matter is…I wrote the article so I was beyond excited when the April/May 09 edition of ReadyMade magazine arrived in my mailbox.
The article is a walk through my Atlanta neighborhood, Poncey-Highland and includes mini-write-ups about several indie businesses: Young Blood Gallery & Boutique, Manuel’s Tavern, Soul Vegetarian, The Highland Inn & Ballroom Lounge, Vacation, Videodrome, The Atlanta Cupcake Factory, The Plaza Theatre, The Majestic and Highland Row Antiques as well as the Carter Presidential Library. Of course the spread didn’t include all the amazing locations that I wrote about. There are just too many great places in the neighborhood to fit on a two-page spread.
I hope you’ll pick up a copy and support this awesome magazine that celebrates DIY, and I also hope you’ll visit Poncey-Highland and support these hard-working, creative, indie business owners.
hooray! congratulations! So glad our hometown has an ambassador like you…
thanks Hannah!
I got my ready made in the mail the other day, and i couldn’t be prouder to see a fellow Atlanta girl featured! So exciting! And they make ponce seem not-so-scary lol
Crazy! I live very close to there!! I will have to check some of those places out! How exciting!

Lenore, thanks so much! So many people around the neighborhood have been excited to see it. I submitted several other businesses that didn’t fit in the spread so I’ll post them here sometime soon. And I’ll go register 🙂
