I got home from work today tired, hungry, even a little down. As I walked up to my door I could see there was a package on the welcome mat and it said The Taunton Press on it….ooo, could it be? Finally, my very own copy of Bead Simple, Susan Beal‘s latest book full of 150 jewelry designs. I say finally, but the book hasn’t even been release yet – that doesn’t happen until March 25. I got an early copy because I’m one of the 40 guest designers who took Susan’s projects and created a variation. I feel so honored that she asked me to be a part of the project.
I did a variation on the hair comb project called the Player Vamp Hair Comb.
I took playing cards with a cool pattern on the back and cut and arranged them in a way so that they are reminiscent of feathers.
I had fun a few months ago making a whole bunch of them. Notice I found two different decks of cards with appealing patterns.
I have to admit there is really no greater thrill than seeing my name in print. I decided when I was seven years old that I wanted to be a writer someday!
