A few months ago, I noticed something was going on in a little store front around the corner from my apartment, and while I’m not exactly sure when it opened I’m so glad that it did! Probably two months ago, Davis and I walked by while it was closed and read the hours: Friday & Saturday 6:30-10:30. A few weeks later as we were finishing up sushi dinner on a Friday night, Davis out of the blue asked, “Do you want to go get a cupcake?” It was about 9:30 at this point and we thought it closed at 10 so we quickly paid our bill and walked as fast as we could from Euclid Avenue up to Highland. Not a long walk, but there was a definite chance of not making it in time.
Walking through the door of the Atlanta Cupcake Factory, I got a feeling I don’t get so often as an adult. Perhaps I’m jaded by going out too much the past ten years, I don’t often get that kid-in-a-candy-store feeling, but the cupcake factory totally brought a rush of excitement.
Lori, the owner behind the counter, is so friendly, the ambiance so light and the cupcakes are like little works of art. I could be happy just looking at them, but they are cupcakes after all so biting into them is a must…and wow! They really are so delicious. I mean really.
So it’s become a little tradition over the past few weekends. When we are around we’ve been making a special point to stop by for a cupcake. The limited hours makes it even more desirable and good times are guaranteed.
